Just like everyone else, our hearts were broken by the events in Newtown, CT on December 14. We have a connection, and a way to make a real impact in the community: Amy’s best friend Christine lives in the town next to Newtown, CT. Christine and her sister-in-law Jess felt compelled to make a positive contribution to their community in the wake of the shootings. Jess, an artist and stationery designer, created a beautiful and heartfelt design for a note-card set or 8″x8″ poster. Jess and Christine are covering all of the costs and labor for the production of the cards, so any donation made goes 100% to the Sandy Hook School. Through a friend of their family who is a teacher at Sandy Hook, money from their project will be outfitting reading corners for the new school: carpeting, seating, and replacing all of the graded level 1 reading materials. We are so moved by the beauty of the cards and the meaning behind them – “Breathe It All In. Love It All Out.” – that we are spreading the word about their campaign. Christine and Jess are purchasing the classroom materials this weekend, so to make a purchase or a donation please click here to contribute by 10 am EST on Saturday, 1/5/13.
