For those whose baseball memories do not reach back to 1906, that was the year that the Cubs had a winning percentage of .763, the highest in MLB history. Much of the credit for this winning streak was given to the double play combo of Shortstop Joe Tinker, Second Baseman Johnny Evers, and First Baseman Frank Chance. This threesome played together from 1902 to 1912 and was immortalized in the 1910 poem by Franklin Pierce Adams:
